The sensor on this module is a pyroelectric infrared sensor which detects movement in the detection area of the Fresnel lens and then outputs a "HIGH" signal at the sensor output pin "SIG" for 3 seconds. Afterwards the signal changes back to the "LOW" state. The soldered potentiometer is used for variable range adjustment. With the help of this module and a microcontroller such as Raspberry Pi or Arduino, it can be used for safety systems or automation, among others.
