When a circuit contact is opened and closed, a voltage is generated at the contact. A current flows when the contact is closed and a self-induced voltage occurs when it is opened. When this occurs, a spark is generated, which forms an arc and generates high-frequency vibration, which can cause damage to the electronic circuit. In order to prevent the occurrence of an electric spark, this spark killer can be inserted in between the contacts.
